Highlights from the IMM exhibition in Cologne

One of the major interior design exhibitions, the IMM, organized annually in Cologne, Germany, opened first again the curtain of the new season decoration. Here we saw all the new trends and all the new products launched by the most important houses for 2017 and we present you the highlights.

The Italian firm focused on the renewed composition 505 showing us its multiple function: it can be used as a library, a room divider, home office and bar. It presented also the wardrobe Master Gliss with new features such as the glass door with Stopsol glass technology and the beautifully lighted glass shelves. Molteni kiosk was edited by the new artistic director of the house, Vincnent Van Duisen, which was oriented to minimalist aesthetics and earthy colors deliberating a feeling of calm.

Poltrona Frau showed bright spaces, moving mostly in charming gray palette and warm neutral earth tones, like that of cognac. The excellent quality of leathers, in which the Italian firm has a tradition, was again one of the main highlights. Natural materials and sophisticated details gave the final result in an high standard booth. We point out the Leplis stylish stools, the Fidelio Notte bedside and the Fidelio chest of drawers (both presented in a version that combines two timeless materials such as leather and marble). Unique style in Diva chairs signed by Roberto Lazzeroni and the Ming's Heart armchair which combines metal leather creating an allegorical dance between the Ying and the Yang.

Many new proposals also concerning the fresh and accessible collection of Avax, Everyday. The shades of blue and some pastel (pink and aqua) were the most prevalent posing in the foreground optimism, childhood and a happy mood. As for the lines, the houses represented by Everyday collection, were oriented in a design simple yet elegant. We consider as a highlight the technical innovation with the foam used in the seats to make them more comfortable and not curl up after use.
