The 54th edition of the Salone del Mobile, the most important event in matters of design, has closed to great acclaim amid huge renewed sectoral. The Salone del Mobile in Milan has closed after welcoming 310,840 visitors through its doors. Bloggers and international media recorded a great organization –despite the difficult financial situation in Europe- and talked about evolution, imagination, harmony, aesthetic consistency and creativity.
We really loved the Fendi Casa elegant collection with its pure lines. The Italian house this time translated the highest artistic into precious objects of furniture, reflecting a lifestyle that reinterprets the tradition through the innovation and creating a contemporary art de vivre. New ways of living harmoniously combine design and luxury in a project that celebrates the idea of beauty while enhancing mutual affinity and functional design. The collection is distinguished by a unique mix of colors and lacquers. A wise use of tones recreates sophisticated and vibrant shades. Fabrics and yarns reveal the decorative expertise of Fendi Casa sublimated in the refinement of the workmanships: triangles, rectangles, three-dimensional elements and canettè define lines and volumes. The Audry chair, the Fleurette coffee table and the Sloane sofa reflect the style of the entire Fendi Casa collection.
The exhibition of Poltrona Frau, curated by the distinguished architect Michele De Lucchi, was also one of the best. It took inspiration from a series of verses from Giuseppe Ungaretti about true love. “True love is like a lighted window on a dark night. True love is a quiet lit” writes Giuseppe Ungaretti and Poltrona Frau translates these words in a sensational and creative collection. The Aida chair with its calm lines and the simple geometry which reminds of a flower, the side table Bird with a simple and abstract design inspired by the silhouette of a bird and the Bretagne bed with the rounded headrest, are some of the most emblematic pieces of this collection.
Dada also presented its creative compositions. Minimalism, pure lines, simplicity and luxury in a premium version. We have pointed out the new wall unit, D|Chrome. Linear and elegant, characterized by the frame of extruded aluminum in black chrome finish and by the door designed by Dante Bonuccelli, in stopsol glass that varies shades with light.
Finally Molteni&C celebrated its 80th anniversary taking part in the Salone Internazionale del Mobile and presenting in the most flashy way its collection. Over 1200 square meters of a coordinated stand, where the collections coexisted harmoniously, all in the name of an eclectic, modern and sophisticated home, with special emphasis on nightime spaces. We fell in love with the pass-word sideboard in this warm red color, with the geometrical chairs combining luxury with comfort and with every single elegant piece signed by the designer Gio Ponti.
